What we produce
Native MicroStation files your team can open, edit and reissue.
Floor, framing and general arrangement plans, with grids, tags and dimensions.
Building and wall sections, with cut elements hatched and weighted to your standard.
Exterior and interior elevations, with levels, openings and finishes called out.
Enlarged structural and architectural details, with callouts on the plans and sections that point to them.
Drawing production problems
Most sheet problems start in the setup or the model.
Symptom
Usually behind it: levels, title blocks, naming or line weights that drifted from the client's standard, sheet by sheet.
How we prevent it: step 1 →Symptom
Usually behind it: a heavy source model, built with the wrong modeling tools, that every drawing has to process when it opens.
How we prevent it: step 2 →Symptom
Usually behind it: drawings set up by hand, one at a time, so their crop and orientation have to be fixed drawing by drawing after each design change.
How we prevent it: step 3 →Our MicroStation drawing production method
12+ years of Bentley expertise, built into every sheet.
Seven steps, from loading your standard to the final issue.
Seed files, levels, text and dimension styles, the title block, display styles and print styles all go into the project workspace first. Your CAD Manager checks the first sheets before we produce the rest.
Why: a standard set up once applies to every sheet in the set, and to every sheet added later.
We confirm the model is light, carries its element data and sits on the project floors and grids. We work through anything that will slow the drawings with your team before sheet work starts.
Why: a heavy or messy model turns a day of drawing production into a week.
Clip volumes and saved views are set up for each plan, section and elevation, and each saved view is referenced straight into its drawing model, with its clip, orientation and view settings.
Why: the drawings stay connected to the model, so a design change updates the view.
One display style per drawing type, with display rules that set color, line weight and visibility from element properties. Rules live in the project standard, so every plan of the same type looks the same.
Why: rules apply the same way on every sheet and carry through every revision.
Dimensions, notes and tags go in the drawing models at drawing scale. Drawings are placed on sheet models with your title block and sheet data.
Why: annotation stays out of the design model, so the model stays clean for every discipline that references it.
We print check sets and review them against your standard and your engineers' markups, then issue the set as native DGN files and a PDF print set.
Why: the printed sheet is what gets reviewed and built from, so it's what we check.
When the model changes, the views follow it. Before every reissue we review each affected sheet, including annotation, clipping and view extents.
Why: geometry updates from the model, and notes and dimensions need a person to check them.
Review & sign-off
We produce the sheets. Your engineers review them. Your EOR seals them.
Produced in your workspace and checked as prints before your engineers see them.
We pick up every markup in the next issue. We work through any conflict we spot with your engineers.
The design, the engineering review and the seal stay with your firm, and so does the issue to your client.
We produce sheets in MicroStation straight from your OpenBuildings model, in the same Bentley environment your project runs on, with every view linked to the model.
Led by an industry expert who has produced construction drawing packages to rail authority CAD standards and led a station upgrade's CAD team.
Saved views, display rules and sheet models set up to your standard, so your own CAD team can open the set, update it and keep issuing it.
When we also model your existing conditions and proposed design, the sheets come from that same model, and it carries on into construction and the as-built record.
Who it's for
Your in-house projects or record drawings need native MicroStation DGN sheet sets, to your own CAD standard.
Your design-build package has a large construction drawing set due at the next milestone, or your closeout needs conformed and as-built drawings that match the model.
The OpenBuildings model is ready, the submission is close, and your CAD technicians are booked. We produce the construction drawings, and your team checks and seals them.
Your team works in Bentley software and needs outsourced MicroStation drafting and sheet production, set up to the same standard your own team uses.
Yes. Every plan, section and elevation is a saved view of your OpenBuildings model, so the views follow each design change. Before every reissue we review each affected sheet, including annotation, clipping and view extents, so the set reads correctly.
Yes. We load your seed files, levels, title block, naming and print setup before the first sheet, and confirm the standard at kickoff. Your CAD Manager checks the first sheets before we produce the rest of the set.
Your Engineer or Architect of Record. We produce the sheets from your design and your engineers' markups. Engineering review, the seal and design responsibility stay with your firm, and we work through any conflict we spot with your team.
Yes. When a set looks right on screen and prints wrong, the cause is usually in the display rules, pen tables or print styles. We trace it to the setting behind it and fix it once at the source, so every sheet in the set prints correctly.
With display styles and display rules kept in the project standard. Each drawing type gets one display style, and the rules set colors, line weights and visibility from element properties, so every plan of the same type looks the same on every sheet.
Yes. We check your OpenBuildings model for production first: file size, element data, floors and grids, and the references the sheets need. We go through anything that would slow drawing production with you, with a recommendation, before sheet work starts.
We keep the source model light and split saved views and drawing models into their own files on large projects, so drawings open, update and print quickly as the set grows.
Native MicroStation DGN drawing and sheet models, set up to your standard, plus a PDF print set of the issued sheets, delivered into your ProjectWise or your project's document system.
The OpenBuildings model the sheets come from, your client's CAD standard with its seed files and title block, your sheet list or drawing register if you have one, and your next submission date. We'll come back with a few questions and a quote.
Every package is scoped first, then quoted. Cost and timeline depend on the number and type of sheets, the state of the source model, the CAD standard, and how many review rounds and submissions the set is reissued for. We confirm both in your quote.
